My Books - 1
Snippets of My Life
Across two countries and seven decades, my life unfolded in small, unforgettable moments.
In this memoir of snippets, I share the joys and heartbreaks that forged my path: the innocence of childhood, the devotion of marriage, the pain of letting go, the grace of caring for others, and the courage to begin again.
Honest, tender, and deeply human, Snippets of My Life is a tribute to survival — and to finding hope in the places you least expect it.

Real Moments from My Life
Snippets of My Life is a collection of real moments from my life — not a perfect story, but an honest one. Because life does not happen in neat chapters. It happens in moments: a loss, a decision, a kindness, a farewell, a new beginning.
Through short snippets, I share what I have learnt about poverty, migration, love, loss, and starting again when life did not go to plan. No matter where life takes you, the heart remembers — and resilience travels with you.
This book did not begin as a book. It began as memories — moments I carried quietly for years. Some painful, some beautiful, many ordinary — yet all of them shaped who I am.
My story begins in South Africa — a land of contrasts, beauty, hardship, and deep emotion. It is where I learnt resilience early, where animals became my comfort, and where loss taught me lessons no one chooses, but many endure.
Later, life carried me across oceans to New Zealand. Coming here meant starting again — with a different language, different customs, and the quiet courage it takes to rebuild a life from the ground up. New Zealand became the place where survival slowly turned into healing.
Between South Africa and New Zealand lies a long distance — but also a bridge made of memories, faith, and endurance.
This book lives on that bridge.
In these snippets, I write about poverty and perseverance, about loving deeply and losing painfully, about faith when answers were absent and about finding strength when there seemed to be none left.
I did not write this book to tell anyone how to live. I wrote it to say: you are not alone.
If you have ever left a country, lost a home, buried a dream, or started again when you were already tired — this book is for you!
